The raw feedback in a guitar tone, the moment a vocal drops to a whisper — those are the things that need protecting in a mix. Before I reach for a compressor I listen to the track, figure out what it's trying to say.
I run things through my analog chain for warmth and fine-tune in the box for control. Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton — whatever DAW you're coming from, I'll open your session and pull the stems into my template. Instead of slamming the mix into a wall, I try to build a stage inside the listener's head.
Vocal Placement

EQ decisions by ear first. The spectrum analyzer gets opened later, for checking.
Recording Cleanup
Background noise, timing drift, phase issues — sorted before the actual mixing starts.
WAV or AIFF, 24-bit, at the original sample rate. Dry stems preferred — you can include an effected version as reference. Upload via Dropbox or WeTransfer and you'll get a confirmation within 2 hours.
If you have a reference track, great. "I want the drums to sound like this song" is worth more than a page of instructions.
I'll send the first mix within 3-4 business days. It comes with an MP3 preview and my notes. The most useful feedback sounds like "vocals a bit more forward" or "I want to feel the bass but not really hear it."
You don't need to use technical terms. "Make it warmer" works fine.
Within 24 hours of your approval: stereo master WAV (24-bit), MP3 (320kbps), and loudness-normalized versions for every platform. Separate stems on request.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube — they all have different LUFS targets. I prep for all of them.
